The House that Jack Built is now on audio
Northern California
The audiobook of The House that Jack Built, Heidi A. Hill’s Songless novella, is now available on Audible. Hill narrates. Running time is 3 hours and 13 minutes.
The book moves in four parts that follow the seasons, from summer to spring. Across that year, Jack goes from a disgraced cadet to a hardened Ranger.
“I think a book being narrated by the author adds another layer to the story,” Hill said. “I know exactly how the characters think. I know how they’d say something. I know the story inside and out.”
Before he loved a woman from that valley, he built a house. Disgraced lieutenant and King’s Key Jack Marshall retreats to the Feather Valley to rebuild his family’s ranch and decide whether obedience is worth the price. It is a tale of repentance, honor, and divine restoration.
The novella takes place before Songless: The Desert and can be read, or heard, before or after it. Ebook, paperback, and hardcover are already available from Trinity River Press.
