Based Book Sale to publish Relics, a new anthology co-edited by Heidi A. Hill
Based Book Sale
The Based Book Sale will release Relics, a short-story anthology, in early October 2026. The debut volume collects fourteen pieces around the theme of relics, including three contributions from the editors.
Heidi A. Hill, author of the Songless Saga, is one of the curators and editors, with L. Jagi Lamplighter Wright and Michael Finney. Hill also contributes a Songless story to the collection.
The editors invited work on any angle of the word: a surviving memorial of something past; an object of age or association; a remaining fragment; the remains of the dead; a memento; and, in the ecclesiastical sense, what is kept of a saint, a martyr, or another sacred person.
Volume 1 includes stories by Ted Cox, CS Johnson, J. Trevor Robinson, Ryan M. Patrick, James Pyles, James Head, Raymund Eich, Jonathan Oldenburg, JD Cowan, Michael Ferrara, and Bowen Greenwood, together with the editors’ own work.
The anthology is intended for a general audience under Based Book Sale guidelines. A second volume is already in progress.
